Dr. Alaa-Eldin Adris holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Reaction Engineering from the University of British Columbia, Canada, as well as a Masters from the University of Salford, England. Furthermore, he holds 7 patents and has published over 50 articles in high-ranking international scientific journals. Dr. Adris has been working as a technology development consultant for 12 years and has headed the development sector of several internationally renowned industrial and technology firms, including SABIC of Saudi Arabia and MRT in Canada. He is also a member of the Board of the Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF) and Chief Knowledge Officer and Chairman of the Science, Technology, and Innovation Committee at Misr El Kheir Foundation, a non-governmental organization working for the development of Egypt, which he helped found in 2007.
Under Dr. Adris’ leadership, Misr El Kheir Foundation’s Knowledge Sector works through four main programs: Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (SRI), Scholarships, and Technical and Vocational Clusters. Through these programs, Dr. Adris hopes to revive the role of civil society in setting a national framework for knowledge and innovation in order to prevent a “knowledge stroke.”
