Dr. Morsi El Soda holds a Ph.D. from the University of Caen, France (1976) and a D.Sc. from the University of Paris VII (1980). He is currently Emeritus Professor of Dairy Science and Technology at the Faculty of Agriculture, Alexandria University. He has served in various positions at Alexandria University over the years, including Vice-Dean for Community Development and Environmental Affairs at the Faculty of Agriculture between 2000-2006 and Dean of the same faculty between 2006-2009.
Dr. El Soda has a number of publications, including more than 170 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Moreover, he has conducted research in some of the most prestigious centers in the United States, including the Center for Dairy Research at the University of Wisconsin and the Dairy Science and Technology Center at the Cal Poly State University.
Dr. El Soda’s achievements in research have been recognized both locally and internationally. In 2013, he received the French Scientific Medal, Chevalier dans l’Ordre du Mérite Agricole, awarded for his coordination of the Franco-Egyptian scientific collaboration. He also received the French Scientific Decoration Commandeur dans l’Ordre des Palmes Academiques in 2004 and was chosen by the American Dairy Science Association as the recipient of the Marschall/Rhodia International Dairy Science Award in 1998. On the national level, he received the University of Alexandria Award for Scientific Appreciation in 2010, the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology Award of Excellence in Agricultural Science in 2005, and the University of Alexandria Award for Scientific Distinction in 2000. Moreover, as a result of his relations and cooperation with French partners and institutions over the years, he established in 2004 the Filière Francophone, a section at the Alexandria University Faculty of Agriculture teaching dairy science and technology in French.
