Dr. Solava Ibrahim is a Lecturer in International Development and Director of the MA in Poverty and Development at the Institute for Development Policy and Management at the University of Manchester. She is also an Affiliated Lecturer at the Centre of Development Studies at the University of Cambridge. She holds a Ph.D. and MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge and an MA in Political Science and BA in International Relations from the American University in Cairo. In the UK, she consulted the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative and the Centre for Analysis of Social Exclusion at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her main areas of specialization are human development, poverty reduction, political transformation, gender, political Islam, governance, and grassroots democracy in the Middle East.
